Future Missions

I am a firm believer in the power of stated goals. One must have a purpose for his actions. One must have a mission!! Some missions are philosophical in nature and some are real and tangible. Here you will find both.

Runners Needed for Charlie Engle's new documentary, Running America.

NEHST Studios is currently looking for 15,000 runners to be extras in a new documentary, RUNNING AMERICA.
NEHST is casting 5 people per mile to run with these athletes to raise money for charity and witness history being made first hand.

Celebrity runners will be announced shortly. Everyone is eligible for submissions, no matter how young, or old, no matter if you are disabled, or if you have never run before. If you’re 16 or under, you will be required to run with a parent/guardian. This is a great opportunity to be in front of the cameras, potentially meet some celebrities, and be a part of history. In this excerpt from the final segment of his recent interview with National Geographic Radio, Charlie discusses his upcoming attempt to break the record for running across the United States. He'll need to cover almost 70 miles a day for 45 consecutive days. An epic journey, to say the least. Note: The interview mentions the course route as going from Seattle to Washington, but the course was recently changed to go from San Francisco to New York.

Beginning September 13, 2008, in San Francisco CA and ending on or before October 28, 2008 in New York NY, “Running America” is an idea sparked by Charlie as he contemplated the next Mission. He knew he had just run across the Sahara Desert to help Africa, so why not run across the US to help America? This time the task will be to finish the run in 45 days to break the world record. When I start my run, you will be able to click on the route markers below for photos, movie clips, and comments about the people and places along the way. Please come back and visit soon.

He, along with another extreme athlete Marshall Ulrich, will be running an average of at least 68 miles every day. During this time, they will be paying tribute to some extreme runners of the past.

Their goal is to introduce the real America to people around the world, from small towns to large cities. Setting the record is not the driving force for these men.

More information will be provided soon.
